locking the clock in windows

is there anyway to lock the clock instead of just hiding
the clock from the toolbar. employees can change the time
and date and void sales and change clock in time on a
different program that uses the windows clock.

I believe you can choose to not display the clock from the Taskbar
Properties applet. However, there is nothing preventing users from
changing the date/time from the Control Panel or showing the clock
again. Even if you make them Limited Users (a good idea if the
applications you run will allow it), I believe they will still be able
to change the time.

You probably should upgrade to XP Pro which will give you the Group
Policy Editor (gpedit.msc). With the GPE, you can set very fine-grained
permissions about what users can do. If you have untrustworthy
employees, it would be worth the upgrade price.

Go to Start/Run and type in: gpedit.msc

Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security
Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment. In the right pane: Change
the system time.
