Hi, Paul.

While opening the database file, hold the <SHIFT> key down until the
database is completely open. The built-in menu and toolbar should be
displayed so that you can adjust the startup settings again. If you don't
see the database window after the database is open, press
HTH.

Gunny,

i tried to use the shift key but it didnt work. i thought
it might be becuase ive set a password. however, what i
did was hold down the shift key then click on the dbase
file and then when it asked for a password, i put in the
password and then pressed enter. the tool bar did not
appear.

once the dbase had botted up i tried the f11 key which
gave me access to the tables but not the tool bar..

Hi, Paul.

Don't feel bad. This took us some amount of experimentation before we got
it right, too. When there's a database password, the important time to hold
the <SHIFT> key is while the database is opening. The database isn't
opening until _after_ one has authenticated with the password.

So, enter the password, then hold the <SHIFT> key down, then press <ENTER>
(or just click on the "OK" button) and continue holding the <SHIFT> key down
until the database is completely open.

HTH.
