Locked Completely Out Of My Comp!

Jeremy

I cant remember the password for my user account in
Windows XP Pro. I've also tried accessing the
Administrator account through Safe Mode but it has a
password too and it is not a randomized password either.
It was entered by someone in my family and they cant
remember it either. There are also no hint questions on
the accounts. I cant even find any way to a command
prompt to reset the password by typing "net user
Administrator xxxxxx"(where xxxxxx is the password you
want on your account). I'm completely locked out and I
dont have my Windows XP Pro CD either. Please someone
help me!

Try to use other accounts with administrative access.
Then on the Windows Explorer, Folder Options, uncheck Use
Simple File-sharing. What we are doing here is to
completely be able to backup all your locked files to
your account and recreate a new account of yours.

So since your acount and files are locked down due to
NTFS security, we will need to change ownerships. Go to
windows Explorer, Locate the document & Settings folder
at your root directory, then click the folder there that
corresponds to your account name. that holds your files
in it. If you will notice, if you try to open files in
it, it is access denied!. Right click My Document folder
in it, then click Sharing & Security. Click Security,
Advanced, Owner. Then change ownership as desired.

Once you got changed ownership, try to copy everything to
a new folder. Then using an administrative account,
create your account. Then copy your files as desired. Be
sure to delete whatever files you left at the
administrative account you borrowed.

OK.
