Lock Exposure, Lock Base Color, Advanced Workflow

A simple question: are all these only for batch scanning? In picture
taking process, you meter one area, then lock the exposure and take an
actual photo of another area. It doesn't make sense to apply the
exposure value for the first scan to the second, unless the two images
are quite similar in terms of contrast range. Please advise. Thanks!

Don't know if this will help you, but in simple terms, what you are
doing with the advanced workflow procedure is characterizing the film
base color, so an appropriate mask can be calculated to accurately
subtract the orange out. The measurement of the color should be made on
a section of unexposed leader, and the color and density should be
consistent for the entire roll of film.

All of the color adjustments in the color tab are still available to you
on a frame by frame basis, to help compensate for the types of items you
refer to. The automatic balance modes also analyze each frame and
respond to whatever parameters you have set.
