We run an exchange server and the users use Outlook 2003, and everything
works as a charm. But when users go to file-archive and want to archive
their mail manually, they get the default location
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data
\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst

We have tried a great many things to set this path for the users, but
without luck. How is it possible to change the default value for this to
for example %homedrive%? The best solution would be if this was something
we could set through AD or the registry, but putting it in the PRF file
would work as well.

Found the solution in another news posting:

A) Under "; Section 2 - Services in Profile", there is a "[Service List]"
section. In that section, make the following entry:

ServiceX=Microsoft Outlook Client

B) Under "; Section 4 - Default values for each service.", create a
"[ServiceX]" section.

To the "[ServiceX]" section, add the following entry:

AutoArchiveFileName=C:\folder\file.pst

D) Under "Section 6 - Mapping for profile properties", there is a
[Microsoft Outlook Client] section. In that section, make the following
entry:

AutoArchiveFileName=PT_STRING8,0x0324
