How do you stop Outlook from changing your mail settings automatically?

It depends on your virus scanner - with my scanner, I double click on the
virus scanner icon in the tray to open the scanner's properties and look for
the email section and uncheck scan incoming and outgoing email. the steps
may be slightly different with your scanner.
