Local user profile migration to AD

I have looked around the web but haven't found a solid answer to my
situation. I have a number of systems that are currently in workgroup
mode. I have built the back-end for AD including DCs and a file
server. I want to start migrating users. I'm using Roaming Profiles
and can easily copy a local profile to the DFS share where the
profiles are located. However, I also want to use Folder Redirection
and I'm having trouble copying local profiles to the file server but
still maintaining the Folder Redirection. Does anyone have a list of
steps that make this possible other than manually moving Start Menu,
My Documents, etc to the new folders?

Thanks in advance.

I suppose if folder redirection detect threes exist contents of My Documents
in the local profile it will redirect to correct location, have you give
that a try?

Yes it will. If you setup Folder redirection, in GPO, on the next logon your
local My Document folder will be copied to the network location.

Thanks for the reply. Does it copy the My Documents folder based on a
user with the same username on the system or the user who is logged in
when the workstation is added?

Thanks again!

It will copy the content of the local my documents folder for the particular
logged in user.
