local user database handle is corrupt

when I go to set up incoming connections after the VPN
screen I get an error that says

An Internal Error has Occured: local user database handle
is corrupt.

I am not sure why and it seems that remote desktop will
not work anymore.

I have already had remote destop working on this machine
previously and so I have guessed that this is the problem.

If anyone knows how to fix this could you please post

You will probably want to escalate this issue with either MS or your
computer manufacturer.. There has been no public resolution of this
problem as of yet short of reinstalling...
