Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

R

Randall Fris

I am unable to open the temporary internet files folder
to view the subfolders. Show hidden files and folders is
selected and hide protected operating files is not
selected. I should be able to view everything with these
settings but I can't. I have to type out the entire
address of the folder to view it. This only applies to
Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files. All others work
fine

Randall,

Create a shortcut on your Desktop. Or you can drag the shortcut into your
Start Menu.

Go there | Right click: the Content.IE5 folder | Send To |
Desktop (create shortcut)

Or create a shortcut to whatever other folder(s) you want.

Thanks for asking. I never thought of doing this and know I have. :)

Temporary Internet files is handled specially by Explorer, so you
*cannot* see the contents in full, with the folder structure, through
it. Use the Command Prompt (All Programs - Accessories) and the DOS
style CD command to
CD \Documents and Settings\Yourname\ etc to get into it, then the DIR
and DEL commands as needed
