Local Security Policy

When I try to access the Local Security Policy I receive the following error
message: Snap-in failed to initialize. Name unknown. I tried Article ID
826282, and I still can't get in to the local security policy. I'm signed
on to the local Workstation as an administrator. Please help.

click "start" then "run" type "gpedit.msc" this should bring up the group
policy window.
