Local security group restrictions

Depending on what group users are in depends are what permissions they have
on the local machine. For Example, if a user is part of the local user group
he/she cannot change time zone, power settings, connect to secure wireless
networks, or install ActiveX® controls, etc.

I am looking for some documentation, website, anything that can explain to
me what permissions get when they are apart of the Power User and Local
users.

For example, I have a user John. He is in the local admin group. He has
full rights on the local desktop.

What if John was in the Power Users Group? What rights would he have?

You can search Microsoft and Google for Windows power users and you should
find a lot of documentation. The short of it is that power users can create
non privileged users, create groups, manage users and groups it creates,
share folders, have some additional user rights, and have
read/list/write/delete permissions to most folders including the system and
program files folders that allows power users to install a lot of software
and potentially delete important/critical files.
