Local Network Connection Error

Has anyone come across this problem before?

We have a small LAN of 4 machines using a Netgear DG834 router. Normally
the LAN performs well with all machines communicating with each other when
we use our normal programs. However as soon as we connect the router to the
phone line we get problems. We can access the internet which confirms to us
that we have a good connection, but don't understand why we get "Local
Network Connection Error" on all 4 machines and the programs we use no
longer function correctly as they cannot read the files on the other
machines.

Regards
Mick

Is your phone connection going to a VPN? I know that I have to reboot
my PC after using a VPN to restore my local network connections.

No it isn't, as far as I can tell all we have is a simple broadband
connection that all 4 machines have access to as well as file sharing
between all machines.

Mick
