Local Disk B: in XP

On day I restated a PC with XP and now I'm stuck with Local Disk B: in Windows
Explorer with a big question mark over the drive icon. I've searched device
manager and disk management, but all the drives and partitions on the system are
accounted for and no hint of what the B: drive might be. I even glanced thru
the registry for devices that might be registered as a drive that didn't show up
in device manager, but no luck. Does any one have an idea how to get XP to
remove a drive that doesn't exist?

Sorry for the delay in replying, but this was on someone else's machine. It
only lists the single hard drive. list volume didn't give any insights either,
just 2 partitions and a CD.
