Loading XP problem

Upon loading XP I get the error in
windows\system32\config\system

I found Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 823614

which told me to run the repair and I get to the
C:\windows prompt

It then tells me to do the following
CD C:\Windows\System32\ConfigREN system system.oldCOPY
C:\Windows\Repair\system

I can't get this to work. Does anyone have any
suggestions? Thank you in advance!
