Loading Windows XP

I have purchased a winfows xp disc and want to load it
onto my home system, which currently runs on windows 98
se, it is not working, can someone tell me why ?

My post to you in the above thread may give a hint as to possible issues.

In that post I mentioned the upgrade advisor, this is included on the XP CD.
At this point, while at the 98SE desktop, place the XP CD in the drive, when
the setup screen appears, select "Check System Compatibility" as the routine
it runs may identify the reasons your are having issues.

If you are unable to resolve this with that utility. we'll need to know more
than "It is not working." Please explain, do you mean you are unable to
install XP, you are unable to install XP (give any error messages, etc.) or
that once installed, you can't boot to it or there is some other problem,
please explain and define that problem.
