Loading Windows XP Pro on a 160 gig drive

How can I make Windows see the drive as 160 gig vs 131 ? My BOIS sees the drive correctly but when I install Windows it creates a partition of 131 in size

Bruce,

you need Windows XP with service pack 1 already integrated. The
original Windows XP does not recognize the bigger hard disks.

But check the Knowledge Base at support.microsoft.com as well.
There may be workarounds.

One workaround would be to install into a small partition first,
then install service pack 1 (or 2 if available), then use third
party software like Partition Magic or BootIt NG
(www.bootitng.com or www.terabyteunlimited.com).
