I am putting a new computer together and it has a 120 GB
Serial ATA Hard Drive running off of the onboard Serial
ATA controller. When i tried to load win 2k it said that
it couldn't find any attached hard disks and I don't have
any driver disk for the onboard controller. I looked in
the bios setup to make sure the controller was activated
then I looked in the Serial ATA controller utility to make
sure that it detected the drive and it did. I have never
installed an OS to a Serial ATA hard drive before, is it
just that win 2k can't install to a Serial ATA hard drive.

Thanx,

When setup has no drivers for the controller, the usual response is that
"no attached hard disks where found". This would mean that you probably
will need Win2000 drivers in order to install. Check the motherboard
manufacturers home page if they has downloadable drivers.

Best regards
