Loading W2K onto a Toshiba Satellite A20

Ray

I've tried loading W2K many ways. The loading process
proceeds smoothly until it gets to installing devices. The
process hangs up part way through the stage.

Looking at earlier messages on this site my suspicion is
the display driver. The driver for the display on the
laptop is available (amongst others) from the Toshiba
download site.

I also note that this display shows on the Microsoft
Hardware compatability reference as being fully compatible
with W2K.

The edition of W2K I am trying to load is SP3.

My questions-
Perhaps the compatability of W2K on the Trident
CyberALLADIN-P4 is only delivered in SP? Is this actually
the case?

How do I get W2K installed so that it gets past this
hangup to allow me to load the necessary Display drivers
(as well as the all the others)?

Hi Ray,
It's not necessarily the display driver that's causing the problem. Check
the Windows 2000 Hardware Compatibility List for the other components in the
system (network adapter, chipset, etc).
