I understand that you need to copy the SATA driver onto a floppy, from
the motherboard cd, and hit F6 when windows xp setup first begins to
load the SATA driver before windows xp. The only problem is that the
driver file on the intel disk is 2.54 Mb, too big for a floppy. Intel
does not have a download on their website that will fit on a floppy. .
.. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong file, it is in the chipset_INF folder
and called INF_6.0.1.1002
At this point I don't even have an operating system (I'm building from
scratch)
Specs:
Intel D915GEV motherboard
intel P4 540J (3.2GHz) processor
Seagate 300 Gb SATA hard drive
DVD R/RW
At this point anything will help.
