loading O/S

hi
i need to know how to load windows XP into a computer so
that when the purchaser of th PC turns it on for the
first time they are Prompted for the reg key but the
system is already loaded this is just so microsoft get
the reg details of the owner of the software when the
purchase and activate the system

How about this. How does one set it up that the OS is fully installed,
except that the product key is entered when the OS is ran for the
first time, not early in the installation as usual.? The whole idea I
supposedly is to make an HDD image of an installation for mas
duplication to HDDS for new PCs, where the customer will enter the
product key that is on their COA.
