Loading into windows error

I have a user who receives this error when logging into
Win2k. "register.exe not found contact your
administrator." He can bypass the error and continue to
work but it happens everytime he reboots and logs back in.
Any ideas?

Anti- Virus/Trojan/Spyware/Adware scans.

Check the startup locations (file and registry) for anything trying to
run "register.exe" (which is not an OS file). Some application might
legitimately use a register.exe file.

msconfig.exe is one startup manager (but not shipped in W2K)
