loading addin

is there anyone who knows why the addin analysis toolpack doesn't loa
when i start excel thrugh an excisting xls file.
if i start excel first, then the xls file the addin loads properly.
i'm using excel 200

Hi Jocke!

Once Analysis ToolPak is selected as an Addin it should load every
time that Excel is opened.

So if you are opening Excel by double clicking an Excel file on your
desktop and Analysis ToolPak is not loading, then it could be an
opening subroutine that is unchecking Analysis ToolPak.

I'm assuming that you only have one version of Excel.

You might try re-registering Excel. Although I haven't heard of that
being linked to an unselected Analysis ToolPak.

Close Excel
On the Windows Taskbar
Start > Run

Type the following exactly including the space between exe and /

excel.exe /regserver

OK.

You might have to designate a full path to the excel.exe file

You’ll have to locate the Excel.exe file using

Start > Search > For Files and Folders

Search for the excel.exe file and note down its location


Then

Start > Run

Type the regserver command using the path you found.

C:\yourpath\excel.exe /regserver



If you have multiple versions of Excel installed you will have a
choice of which version to use as the default

Hi Jocke!

Thanks for the confirmation. I'd not heard of Excel acting up quite
like this before so it's useful to others to know that re-registering
is the solution.
