Loader error 3

Started my laptop this morning and got thos error

"Windows 2000 cannot start due to software error.

Loader error 3"

Has anyone come across this before?

Help.

I got this same error this morning - still working it
with my company's tech support. I don't think it looks
good, however. Did you find a resolution?

I ran into the "laoder error 3" problem on a Dell Latitude and ran
this solution from Mr. Nigel Wynne on a google thread.

1 Backup user data
2 Boot with 2000 CD
3 Boot to Console
4 Used FIXBOOT
5 Reboot

I wasn't able to use "FIXBOOT" but I fixed the problem just by booting
with the win2k instal cd, runing the recovery console, reboot, then
running the emergancy repair (fast repair option) which did not work,
but when I removed the win2k cd and rebooted the problem was gone. So
basicaly I did nothing as far as a repair goes but the problem went
away just from booting from the win2k recovery console. Maybe it just
needed a jump start I don't know. Of course this is an "n" of 1 so I
wonder if this or Mr. Nigel Wynne's solution worked for anyone else.
