I have the following problem at the installation of WinXP:
I need to load special Adaptec SCSI drivers from CD-ROM instead
of a floppy disk unit because my system has no floppy disk unit.
However Windows Setup asks for a floppy disk with drivers, how
the specify the CD-ROM as driver load device?

As far as I know, there is no way to do what you ask. You have three
options.

First, you can attach a floppy drive during installation. If you are
only setting up one machine, this is probably the easiest approach.

Second, you can set up a network-based unattended installation and use
the TXTSETUP.OEM mechanism. This is what I do, and it works fine.

Finally, you can create a CD-ROM based unattended installation and
hack directly on WINNT.SIF and TXTSETUP.SIF on the installation media:

I WAS having the same problem, in a way.

Whenever I did an F6 install, I got a driver error.

The PERFECT sollution for this is...

I'm about done with mine, I'm just adding a few extras. I also nee
someone to verify that my textsetup.oem and winnt.sif files are good.
Mainly the textsetup.oem is beating the hell outta me. I'm pretty sur
I've got it now though....just need someone to go through it for me
