Liveupdate not working all of a sudden. Norton Systemworks Professional 2003, tryitoz

My Liveupdate on Win2k (sp4, plenty of memory and diskspace) has been
working fine for some time. My subscription has not expired, etc....
I have not changed anything thatI know of and even if I disable the
Sygate Firewall on my PC, Liveupdate still shows there are no updates
to download.

So what I did was to uninstall Liveupdate and then reinstall from the
Norton site. Ran it and it found the latest virus updates among other
updates. Great.

Awaiting a few more updates to be posted by Symantec to see if this
solved the problem. Not sure.

Anyone else have the problem where all of a sudden Liveupdate just
kept going to FINISH screen and had no updates to download?

Thanks
Joe

Yes! I still have the same problem (since few months), same OS and the same
version 2003.
But how do you mean "reinstall from the Norton site"? Can LiveUpdate be
downloaded from Norton?
I surely hope to solve this annoying problem!

I uninstalled Norton Liveupdate from Start, Control Panel, Settings,
Add Remove Programs.
I then downloaded a new version from this URL and installed it:
Go here and select LiveUpdate in the drop down box.
http://www.symantec.com/downloads/

This seemed to fix my problem and I hope yours.

Joe,

Your message has been a great help! I did as you described and... at last it
seems I can LiveUpdate interactively again like I used to.
LU found a big amount of updates, apart from the virus defs, including
LiveUpdate itself. I took the chance and chose to update all. I hope it
keeps functioning... future will tell.
