LiveRecovery

Word crashed and my doc went into a LiveRecovery loop. I have not seen this
"LiveRecovery" before. Doc goes through the recovery process, I have options
to send or not send an error report. Regardless of the options selected, Word
recovers the doc and then closes. When re-opened, it goes through this same
process. Doc is about 8 MB, approx 230 pages.

I have no way of identifying the error or fixing it, or even copying the
text into a new doc.

Any suggestions?

In the File Open dialog, select the document, then use the pulldown on the
Open button to select Open and Repair.
