I was looking at the maps section of Live.com the other day and I saw that
there was a button that said 3D and I clicked on it but it told me I had to
install it so I was wondering how much better it is then the normal one, can
you zoom in closer, and if it is free to install?

I live in a hilly neighborhood, and the 3-D rendering of my neighborhood is
pretty useless. A 2-D Bird's Eye view, on the other hand, is pretty good,
and might actually be useful. Just one person's subjective opinion about a
single address.

Let's see, your question has been up for less than 30 minutes. As soon as
someone who knows the answer sees your question, I'm sure you'll get a
response. If no one has an answer or even a good guess, you're unlikely to
get a response.
This is a community of users, like yourself. People check in and out of here
at various times.
If you're lucky, someone eventually will check in who knows the answer and
will try to help out.
Until then, there's no point in asking people to answer your question.
Especially one you posted just a half-hour ago.

Yes, it's free to install. You definitely want to install this feature.
Works well on Vista.

thanks for all of your help

how do you upgrade your current version to the new one? and are there any
charges for upgrading?

Start Virtual Earth. On the left side, in the Welcome section, you should
see Maps in 3D, install free. Click that link and follow the instructions on
the screen.
