liteon cdrw noise

when my cdrw player begins to spin very fast, it makes a
loud noise that sounds like a cow. should i be able to
adjust the speed, and will it slow performance on online
games?

Tigerfish, my Plextor 16x Cdrw makes the same kind of noise but not all
the time. My LiteOn which is twice as fast is usually
very quiet.

Same here. My LiteOn 48x is noticeably quiet.
