Listen to voice calls with Broadband ?

I have broadband and a normal home telephone line. Is there any freeware out
there which will allow me to Record (or listen to ) the calls coming in on
my home phone line (which is shared with broadband).

i.e. i've got 1 phone in the next room, and 1 phone in the same room as the
PC, all on the same line with Broadband. But i want to be able to listen to
any calls through my computer of either of these phones.

Cheers

AFAIK the signals of ADSL/Cable are splitted before they get to your
computer.
(you know that little gray/white or black box with 'line' in and 'phone' and
'DSL' out.

I know you can you can plug yourcable/ADSL modem into the phoneline without
this splitter, but I doubt there is a router that does filter the Phone
frequenties and put them through. (well... a pure VoIP router might do this,
but I guess if you can afford such a device, you wouldn't be reading this
group, but news://alt.millonairs.what.to.do.with.the.money)

A USB modem (If plugged in without the splitter) might be able to transfer
the phone signals to the pc (I'm not too familiair with USB modems) But
ethernet routers/modems certainly don't.

Even If the usb modem is cabable to tho this, ýou probably will find better
answers in network and or phreaking groups.
