In getting ready to send my e-mail using outlook...through a exchange
server...i meant to do alt-s, to send an e-mail, but accidently hit another
combination of strokes and the e-mail content was read to me, including TO:
recipients, CC subject line and the content of the e-mail...in a male
computer voice....

what command did i use to invoke this? i haven't been able do it anymore

sounds like you are using the help thing that speaks out every command you
do.

it's called ease of access settings in vista. in xp it's called
accessibility display settings. you need to go here and turn it back off.
you manged to hit some hot key strokes.

probably in control panel somewhere?

No...the command I hit was when i was going to send an e-mail and instead of
sending it, the contents of the body were read back to me...in audio format

You have "sticky keys" set in Accessibility in Control Panel. Turn them off
there and select the option to warn you when it's set accidentally. Go thru
all the accessibility settings. You have turned on Narrator. Look it up in
Help if you can't find it.
