what are the right ntfs permissions so users can only see their own
folders in a common share

meaning I want to set up one share, for instance I call it
'departments'
then their are subfolders for all the groups
for example 'sales' for the sales guys and dolls
'accounting' for the dull people from accounting ;-)
and so on

offcourse there are more folders but a sales person can only see his
own folder and not the others

is the list subfolders deny a correct way of working or....

thnx

You need Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 to do this. It is called Accesses-Based Enumeration of the share.
