list by category in To: dropdown box

I'm using Outlook 2002. When I click on the New Mail Message icon on the
toolbar it opens a template in Word. When I click on the To... icon I get a
list of names in alpha order from my contact folder. Is there a way to have
the names come up grouped by category or to have just one category listed?
It's very tedious to have to look for one name out of a list of a hundreds or
more contacts. Can I at least get them to show up last name followed by
first name? Thnx.

You have only two sorting options in the Outlook Address Book:
First/Last Name
File As... field

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there
