Linux connect to WinXP shared printer

I know this is more of a Linux newsgroup question but it
involves an XP machine on the same network.

I'm trying to setup a connection to a shared printer on a
WinXP box from my Linux (Red Hat 9) workstation.

Has anyone get this to work...I know Linux supports SAMBA
printer connections and can (supposedly) do Windows-based
printer shares but I haven't been able to get this to
work.

Install Print Services for Unix on XP and set it to start automatically in
services TCP/IP Print Server. Then use lpr from the Linux client to target
the LPD service on XP. Not sure on Samba.
