links toolbar

My links toolbar cannot be turned off. When I uncheck it
in the menu, it disappears during that session. After
closing and reopening IE6, the links toolbar is again open
and checked as though something is turning it on
automatically.

I had the surferbar problem and ran "hijackthis" to get
rid of it. Ever since, the links toolbar is present. IE6
seems to work O.K. otherwise.

Any advise to remedy this nuisance would be appreciated.

Do you unlock the toolbar before making the change and then lock it
afterwards?

When you were dealing with Surferbar, did you post your Hijack This log to
the recommended forum and receive instructions on removing it?
