Trying to create links to pictures...

Here's the issue: I am adding links to pictures in a db that is used by
multiple people. They are at a location different than where I'm located.

When I create a link to a picture using "edit link", it creates a virtual
link and the picture will not open on my computer. I can edit the link
manually & create a literal link. Then, I can open the picture, but my
co-workers cannot. The drive letter that I am mapped to is different for my
location than it is for the others.

Is there a work around for this w/o having to contact the sys admin to try
to get my drives remapped? (If I have to contact sys admin, it will be like
pulling teeth...)

Not sure if this is the best way to do it but if everybody can access the db
then just put all the pictures in a folder in the same folder that holding
the db and in your db links with "Fully Qualified Filenames".

Use a hyperlink, or Uniform Resource Locator (URL) then drive mapping will
not be a issue.

You can try my ImageDemo database to see if this works for you. It is
certainly not complete by any means, but it might give you some ideas:

Note: Currently does not work with Access 2000 or lower versions. I plan on
fixing that in the future, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
