Hi, not sure where to put this question, but I'll try here. Suddenly,
whenever I click on a link in an email, it won't open up, but rather the box
to search my computer opens up instead. Also, when I click for example on
the icon to open up Gtalk, the button taking me to my gmail account doesn't
work. My Internet Explorer works, but some websites give me the same
problem, it does nothing when I click on a link. I must have messed
something up. Additional Info: I now have a Japanese anti-virus/spam
program and can't read most of the boxes I click yes on... I might have
agreed to something I don't want! Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for answering. My problem, as far as I know, had nothing to do
with removing unwanted programs. My problem was that my links in emails and
some webpages no longer worked.

However, on this very site, I found a similar question to mine and a very
useful response. My problem is now solved! For others with this problem,
here is the solution:

To resolve this problem change the registered file type for the
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol file type to use Internet Explorer. To do
this, follow these steps: 1. On the desktop, double-click My Computer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File Types
tab.
3. In the Registered File Types list, click URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol,
click Advanced, and then click Edit.
4. In the Actions box, type open.
5. In the Application used to perform action box, locate Internet Explorer
(Iexplore.exe), and then click Open.
6. In the Application box, type IExplore, and then click OK.
