links in IE won't complete.

When clicking on links in an open IE window
a small 3/4 size IE window opens but it just searches forever with no
address in the address bar. This happens on a lot of the links but not
every one. The ones that work open full size. Also not all the buttons
appear
in the IE window.

Also if I copy and paste the link into the address bar in the partly open IE
address bar, IE continues to load all the buttons and opens to a full window
and completes the search.

Resets all the IE functions - for windows, hangups,

Start> Run> Paste this
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll

and then do the same with each one of the following..

regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

If still no joy, then try the following:

You may have a hijacker, malware, spyware or parasites on your system
causing this problem. Thus, in addition to running your updated anti-virus
program, you should do the following to be sure none of these are present on
your system. Although you may have already run one or more of the programs,
please do so again according to the instructions below. Some variants of
malware can replicate themselves over and over if not removed properly.
Please follow all instructions carefully to be sure your system is
thoroughly cleaned:

i'm pretty sure the problem is with your javascript. i've had the same
trouble for a couple of days, and started following the tips that jan il
provided, and came to a problem with the msjava.dll not being found. i went
to java's website and downloaded the newest runtime environment, which is
found under manual downloads, and once i restarted my system, everything was
back to normal. try that, and hopefully it will fix your situation.

I'll give these steps a try later or over the weekend. As a note I think my
problem started after removing some spyware and a hijacking program, but I'm
not sure.
