Has anyone encountered problems with the links that are in
folders such as My Documents? For example, when viewing
folders in Web View, to the left are links to other
folders, such as My Computer, Network Neighborhood,
Control Panel etc. When I click on one of these links,
nothing happens, whatever folder I am in stays there, I am
not linked to Control Panel or whatever link I click on. I
have searched the knowlege base, and found nothing. I am
wondering if the problem is due to installations of
updates from Windows Updates, as I have all current ones
for Windows 2000. I am also wondering if this is a
registry key issue. If someone else has encountered this,
please respond, as I am very curious to know the solution.

Hi

Most likely introduced by the update KB824145:

MS03-048: November 2003 Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-048.asp

I would think we will get a new cumulative security update for Internet
Explorer in the near future, hopefully this is fixed then.

Torgier,

Thank you for that advice. I wanted to update this a
little, there has been a new update introduced, MS04-004,
832894:http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/?
url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-004.asp

Again, this patch addresses the cross-domain problem, and
prevents scripts from being executed in the Local Machine
Zone. I think this could be the problem, as this latest
update did not fix the problem, either.
