Links between Sheets

W

Warren Easton

Dear All,

I have an excel spreadsheet that has links to two other sheets, I've just
typed in = then went to the sheet and clicked on the cell I want to link to.
Everytime I open these sheets the links between then turn to source unknown
and they don't update on the first sheet. Can anyone advise what I'm doing
wrong?

Dear Warren

This is a copy of one link that I use from one work book to another. You
will see that you have to give the complete path to cell c111
='C:\Users\Welcome\Stewarts Files\Road accounting program\Road Accounting
Package\Road Managers Package\[Tour Managers Spreadsheet.xls]Tour managers
Spreadsheet'!C111

Hope this helps

You can also do it with an Indirect Function whoever the Second work book
has to be open to use that

Best

Thanks Stew,

My path looks similar, and works the first time I input it, but if I close
the workbooks then reopen them they don't change in the destination cell.

In one work book will pick out the value in C111 in another work book.

If the value in C111 changes then that will be reflected in the original
wookbook. Is this what you are after?

If you remove :$D$5 from the routing the all works fine for me

With the reference you are using to Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls you
asking for a 2 cells to be displayed in on cell. If that is what you want
then
='[Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5&" "&'[Twinwire Estimating
