Linking worksheets

dear community

when I paste special command into word document (copy a worksheet from excel
and paste special with 'Link" option selected and when I double clicked the
pasted worksheet in the word document to activate the excel program in a
separate window to perform some changes in the excel data and upon finishing
the modification and closed with Saving but the pasted link worksheet in my
word document did not update the changes done in Excel. Can anybody please
help me to solve this problem.

Note:

the updated worked only when I closed the word document and open up the
Excel to do the changes and saved thereafter I open up the word document and
it is then I got a prompt to ask me whether I wished to update the link.

In Word, select Edit > Links, click on the link(s) to select and click
Update. This will update the Excel tables in Word.
