linking word doc

I have a word document in a shared drive that instead of having to go into it
and get to the file, I would like to just have the file (that sits on my
desktop also) get update from the one on my desktop. What can I do? I j ust
rather update the file on my desk and have it update automatically in that
shared drive. Thanks

Why not simply put a shortcut to the file on your desktop?
If you want to ensure that you save the file (as opposed to the link) both
on your desktop and your shared drive see the macro to save to two locations
at http://www.gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm
