I have setup a link to an Excel spreadsheet. When I open the table which
is linking to the spreadsheet in Access I see some cells with values of
#Num! in them.

I noticed that Access thinks they are numbers. The spreadsheet has a
variety of values
for that cell.

Went back to the spreadsheet and tried to change the format for the cells.
Said it was text.

Now access shows the values that are only all text. Anything with a number
I get the #Num! value.

This cell contains a mix of values. How can O show that?

Thanks for any help

hi,
you may have to return to excel and put an apostrophe in
front of all numbers, even if they are formatted to text
in excel.
formatting does not change data. it only changes the way
it looks to a human.
it your case access is still seeing numbers.
and an apostrophe will make it see text.
