I think that I may have an issue; I've created a Db within Access 2002 that
links to an Excel XLS. This Db populates various named range cells within
the XLS via an update qry, all of my development work was performed from my
home office using Office XP.

I was just informed that my client is running Office 97. My question and
problem is; does Access 97 allow for the linking of spreadsheets? If not, is
there a way to perform the task listed above other than using an ODBC
connection to the spreadsheet? I prefer no to use the ODBC because I'm not
quite sure if the # of users.

Thanks,

Yes
I have a client with quite a few spreadsheets linked between Access and Excel in 97. It works without the ODBC, same as 2000
