Linking a query to Outlook (contacts folder)

I queried one category from the contacts folder in outlook xp. How do I link
it to the contacts folder without it being overwritten by the contacts folder.
My desire is that, as I add names in "contacts folder" and assign them
to the same category as my query, I expect them to appear in that in that
query as well. Not rocket science but i'm missing something. Thanks so much

Did you LINK to the Contacts folder or import it? You should have
linked it. Then when you run the query, it will just filter your
Outlook Contacts table. No importing required.

I tried linking it instead of importing it first. That saves a step . The
table comes in great, however many of the fields are lost in the process. I
need the "categories" field, in order to run my query. By default all of the
fields in the cantacts folder are there prior to it being linked. Thanks for
your help

Thank You Pietlinden: I tried that first. I did the following....... Imported
the Contacts folder into Access > Linked that table to the contacts folder.
When I ran a query from that linked table, I discovered that the "categories"
field was missing. Thats the field I needed to run my query. The Categories
field was definitely on the maped list before importing. The categories field
was also there in the access table after the import. When I link the tables
it is no longer there and some of the other fields seem to be gone also. Any
suggestions. I will keep trying. office 2002
Thanks so much
