Linked Tables Drive Letter/UNC

D

DD

I have several linked tables. When I use my db from
another PC, the tables are not found if the other PCs
drives are not mapped the same. I cannot find a way to use
the universal server name as opposed to the drive letter.
Every time I use the UNC it reverts back to the drive
letter. Thanks in advance.

In linked table manager, instead of browsing to the back end file via the
drive letter, browse through Network Nghborhood, or My Network Places to
find the BE file.

In addition to Kevin's suggestion, you could always remove the existing drive
mapping until after your database has been relinked using the UNC, then
reinstate the mapped drive.
