Linked Table Manager

I have a standard front end/ back end application that has been working
perfectly on both my laptop and also on my client's PC. But today when I
went to put a new front end on the clients PC, when I go to Tools>Linked
Table Manager I can't see any of the tables. If I click on select all (as
per normal) I get an error message "Object variable or With Block variable
not set"

I wonder if a reference has been disturbed.

in the frontend db, is each linked table object's Hidden
property checkmarked (set to True)? if so, on the client's
PC, in Access Tools, Options, View - is Show Hidden
Objects checkmarked (set to True)?
