Linked cells in access db

I can see how I could use access as a front end managing data tables in
excel.

Is there any way to link a named range in excel to a single database record
in access, and print out the entire range(4 to 8 cells, maybe) as a field in
an access report?
 
excel is crap learn Access for real.

access is much more poweful than a dozen kids making spreadsheets
