Link Word dropdown to Excel spreadsheet

Here's a challenge for someone:
Does anyone know if it's possible to link a form field in a Word document to
the autofilter results in an excel spreadsheet? For example: assuming U.S.
was the selected country in Field1, then a macro would filter the spreadsheet
to display all the states in the U.S. and now these are the available options
in Word Field2. Then if Minnesota was selected in Field2, a macro would
filter the spreadsheet even further and now the available options in Word
Field3 would only be the cities in Minnesota...
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS POSSIBLE TO LINK WORD FIELDS TO SPREADSHEET
FILTER RESULTS???
