I have a large amount of data (1090 gb) stored on 4 network drives. I would
like to create a data base that will allow users to carry out searches for
specific folders and file names etc. However the amount of data is constantly
being added to and sometimes removed. It would be very helpful if the data
base could update itself to reflect this everytime a user opened the database

Access is not your tool-of-choice if you have that much data. The
Access/JET back-end is limited to 2 Gbytes, although you could link to
multiple databases to come up with a higher number.

But you are talking about a terabyte.

It sounds like you want a way to list all the folders and file names -- and
I believe I've seen something related to that. Have you tried searching on
Google.com?
