Link excel 2007 chart formatting

Is there any way to link the chart appearance as well as the values when I do
a copy and paste of a chart in excel from one workbook to another? Currently
the values change automatically but if I change the chart style in the source
chart the destination charts don't get this.

The other alternative is to link the chart through OLE but excel does not
seem to allow me to link it under paste special (it is greyed out) unlike the
other office apps (word, powerpoint).

Thank in advance for your help

The formatting of objects in Excel are governed by the settings of the
parent workbook. If your two workbooks have different settings, you will get
different appearances.

You could copy the chart as a picture, and the formatting will be retained,
but it will no longer be linked. Or you could use the Camera Tool to copy
the original chart, and put the copy into the second workbook. The result is
a live linked picture of the original chart. You actually have to take a
picture of the cells underlying the chart. Sometimes Camera objects can
consume significant resources.
